Position summary:
The Mission of the Credit and Collections Representative is to play a key role interacting in-country face to face with customers, to safeguard the company’s assets and maximize cash flow and liquidity, proactively managing the risk of loss on billed revenue while at the same time supporting the sales effort and fostering the relationship with the customer.
Essential duties & responsibilities: (detailed description)
Credit
To play a key role partnering with Sales Stakeholders, aligned with the Finance team, to leverage, influence, guide, and propose the best risk alternatives.
To gather local customer credit intelligence to provide support ensuring adequate Bad Debt reserves are established based on recognized risk following the methodology in the Bad Debt policy, minimizing the impact of Bad Debt, improving at the same time that the sales and margin growth.
In coordination with the Credit Risk Team, take order release/hold decisions
Prepare and propose payment plans with past due customers
To support ensuring appropriate credit limits are correctly analyzed, reviewed and maintained.
Collections
To drive local effort collecting payments from customers as per the establish terms
Timely support disputes resolution
To keep the customer goodwill during the collection process, leading the key negotiations with strategic customers.
To evolve effective reporting and assessment tools to minimize risk and proactively identify problem areas and customers (at the same time as optimizing Stryker’s long term business strategy).
To keep Sales and Senior Management informed about emerging problems including:
-Customer overdue status,
-Uncollectible accounts,
-Payment issues,
Complete reports on the status of delinquent accounts and related collection efforts
Cultivate strong collaborative relationships with internal customers, including Sales, Customer Service, and any other departments
Timely escalate large collection or reconciliation issues
Identify and address payment concerns and red flags before they become problems
Overall Accounts Receivable:
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the O2C function, ensuring that improvements are incorporated in the work routine
Contribute to accurate customer master data elements
Maintains documentation to support A/R transactions and facilitate the efficient review and audit of books and records
Comply with all internal control procedures to ensure accurate financial records
Performs other related work as assigned by management
Education & special trainings:
Technical degree or at least 2 years of university studies, preferably in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field
Experience with face to face customer interaction
Intermediate to advanced MS Office Suite
Fluent spoken and written English
Experience on collections-related systems (SAP, Oracle, Credit Management tools, or others)
Qualifications & experience:
4 – 6 years of relevant experience in a Collections role
Physical& mental requirements:
Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and multi-task
Ability to influence, and confident presence interacting face to face with customers interaction
Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and ability to communicate complicated issues effectively
Demonstrated ability to perform consistently under varying business pressure as well as ability to adapt to a quickly changing environment
Effective problem-solving skills
