Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the food and beverage team, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
- Develop, plan, and execute menus in collaboration with the culinary team, focusing on creativity, seasonality, and customer preferences.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and consistency to ensure adherence to established standards.
- Implement and maintain effective cost control measures, including inventory management, portion control, and waste reduction.
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as event planning and marketing, to ensure seamless coordination for special events and promotions.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs to support staff development.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, market competition, and customer preferences to enhance our offerings and maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years’ experience as a Food & Beverage Manager in a similar lodge environment.
- A degree or diploma in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.
- Code 8 Drivers License
- Professional culinary experience an advantage
- In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning, cost control, and health and safety regulations.
- Strong leadership abilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with staff, customers, and suppliers.
- Extensive purchasing experience
- Proficiency in relevant software applications and point-of-sale systems.
Package:
- Salary R25 000.00 – R28 000.00 DOE
- Live in with meals on duty
- Pension fund
- 21 days’ work cycle with 7 days off and 15 days annual leave
