Are you a seasoned professional in the food and beverage industry, passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences? We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic Food & Beverage Manager to join a dynamic team in Hoedspruit, MPL.

The ideal individual for the position will have an eye for detail, be energetic, passionate about guest delight and enjoy guest interaction, be able to think out of the ‘box’ and have a lov e for food and wine.Furthermore, he or she must be a natural leader, have good administrative skills and enjoy staff motivation and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the food and beverage team, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
  • Develop, plan, and execute menus in collaboration with the culinary team, focusing on creativity, seasonality, and customer preferences.
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and consistency to ensure adherence to established standards.
  • Implement and maintain effective cost control measures, including inventory management, portion control, and waste reduction.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as event planning and marketing, to ensure seamless coordination for special events and promotions.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs to support staff development.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, market competition, and customer preferences to enhance our offerings and maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Food & Beverage Manager in a similar lodge environment.
  • A degree or diploma in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.
  • Code 8 Drivers License
  • Professional culinary experience an advantage
  • In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning, cost control, and health and safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with staff, customers, and suppliers.
  • Extensive purchasing experience
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications and point-of-sale systems.

Package:

  • Salary R25 000.00 – R28 000.00 DOE
  • Live in with meals on duty
  • Pension fund
  • 21 days’ work cycle with 7 days off and 15 days annual leave
