Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer and Assistant Engineer within the maintenance department, the successful incumbent is required to perform a high standard of painting and related functions whilst maintaining the quality and standards of the Westin Cape Town Hotel in accordance with Marriott International policies & procedures.

Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 -3 years’ experience in a similar position
- Must be flexible in regards to working hours
- Must be prepared to work shifts
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use Initiative and be proactive and self-driven
- Ability to work without supervision and work well within a team
- Be a motivated individual with a positive attitude.
- Passionate about quality, service delivery and must be customer focused
- Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance as per company standards
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a high standard of painting – both polvin and enamel - and related functions and perform other duties as and when required.
- Be able to effect repairs to various types of wall finishes including, brick, plaster and dry wall – including ceilings and associated skimming skills.
- Complete all daily duties as set out in departmental duties and requirements.
- Be conversant with the BMS for the effective control of utilities.
- Operation and maintenance of all equipment pertaining to heating, air-conditioning electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems.
- To control abuse and breakages of equipment and to ensure all equipment and tools are handled and stored correctly.
- To be familiar with and understand the use of all spares and tools under positions control.
- Participation in and contribution to the effective implementation and completion to standards of preventative maintenance programs for the hotel.
- Be prepared to perform other duties comparable to the above as these only describe primary.
