An upmarket Lodge Hotel in Cape Town is looking for an experienced Steak House Restaurant Manager to join their team. They are looking for candidates from a high-end Restaurant Management background who will lead and oversee the daily operations. Only applicants with minimum 3 - 4 years Restaurant Management experience will be considered.

The successful applicant will be required to:

Leading & directing the team in order to meet sales, profit & compliance targets and strict hygiene standards

Ensuring the achievement of financial targets by driving sales & tracking daily, weekly & monthly targets

Proactively taking appropriate action when required – been solutions driven

To efficiently manage & control all operational activities, including customer experience, expenses, stock management, shrinkage, general housekeeping & administration

Preparing reports at the end of the shift/week, including staff control, food control and sales

To successfully manage in store execution of all visual merchandising, ensuring that in-store presentation & promotional standards are maintained and the appearance is in line with the brand image

Maintaining high standards of food, service, and health and safety

Oversee full operations including inventory and stock control

Ensuring that all employees adhere to the company's uniform standards

Staff development and training to optimise profits

Manage restaurant supplies, control costs and minimize waste

Extensive guest interaction with a hands-on approach to guest service

Ensure daily cash-up reports are accurate, effectively manage petty cash

Overall management of the restaurant, including stock control, general management, daily opening & closing procedures

Qualifications:

Minimum Matric or an equivalent qualification

Hospitality Certificate / Diploma

Minimum 3 – 4 years’ experience in Restaurant Management

Computer Literate with skills in Excel & Word &Pilot will be adv

Fluent in English & Afrikaans

Own Transport

Skills

The ability to converse in one of South African’s other 10 official languages and an international language would be advantageous

Excellent organisational, communication and administrative skills

The confidence to liaise with guests and colleagues alike

Good communication skills to find out exactly what your guests require

Personal charm on dealing with guests telephonically & face to face

Attention to detail with a “Can-Do” attitude

Customer service attitude & solution oriented

Self-motivated and results driven

Professional personal presentation and assertiveness

Ability to work under pressure and systematic

Must be someone who is bubbly, humorous and pleasant

Need to be professional at all times

Diligent, honest & disciplined

Committed to service excellence
