Responsible for promoting the Funds products (Living Annuity, Preservation Fund & Funeral Aid Scheme) amongst members, offering retirement benefit counselling to exiting members and spearhead the Funds Road to Retirement Seminars.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION: Post Graduate Qualification in Financial Planning
MINIMUM PERIOD OF EXPERIENCE/ TRAINING: A minimum of 5 years experience in pension fund administration with a strong focus on communication, counselling and retirement planning.
Competence in English and isiZulu. Basic understanding of the retirement funding industry.
Marketing and Sales will be an added advantage.
Benefit Counselling
- Facilitate Road to Retirement Seminars for all members approaching retirement age.
- Write, create and edit, marketing material promoting the Funds products.
- Identify all members within 5 years, 1 year and 6 months prior to their retirement and capacitate them to make informed decisions when they retire.
- Liaise with municipal human resources to identify members exiting the Fund i.e., retirement, death, withdrawal, and retrenchment.
- Arrange telephonic, virtual or in-person one-on-one sessions with prospective exiting members and provide them with factual information regarding their options.
- Provide ongoing Retirement Benefit
- Counselling to all members audiences
- Compile a Benefit Counselling Report to all counselled members

Marketing
- Create awareness amongst members of the Funds products and services
- Obtain values, in-fund preservation and withdrawal quotations for exiting members.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive awareness and demand of the Funds products
- Provide monthly report on the status of the uptake of the Funds products.
3. Product Positioning
- Serve as the Funds spokesperson and go-to product expert
- Analyse customer, industry trends and other industry players to provide competitive edge
- Develop strong relationships with all internal colleagues and municipal officials to ensure operational efficiency and discuss product specifics, appropriate training, service, and support.
- Develop product positioning and messaging that resonates with members and differentiate the Funds products from its competitors

Financial Literacy
- Design and implement strategies aimed at improving members financial literacy.
- Facilitate financial literacy programmes for members
- Track and monitor the impact of these initiatives and report to the Communications Manager quarterly.
5. Industry awareness
- Understand the Funds benefits, options at retirement, death, and withdrawals, as well as the Funds financial products available for members including cost structures.
- Conduct competitor analysis to compare Fund products against competitors
- Develop matrix to highlight differences between Fund and competitor products.
